What You Need to Know About the Top 4 Diets
The Atkins diet
Reducing the amount of carbs in the diet is the big idea behind the atkins 40 diet reviews. As the body will then be working from a limited carbohydrate supply it will need to tap into stored energy, or fat. This will typically lead to a state of ketosis where fats are being burned more efficiently. There are some problems with this improved energy efficiency. Some of the most common complaints are constipation and bad breath. Furthermore, because the diet consists of basically just proteins and saturated fats with a considerably reduced amounts of fruits and veggies, this diet plan also increases the risk of some types of cancer and heart disease. There is a lot of potential to lose a good amount of weight in a short amount of time, because eating proteins will make you feel satisfied for a longer period of time. But, protein is not the best fuel source and this diet plan should not be continued for too long as it can be harmful to your health.
South Beach Diet
Based on the same principles as the Atkins Diet, the South Beach Diet also utilizes stored fats by reducing the amount of carbs and including more proteins. However, this diet plan uses a far more intuitive approach to the carbohydrate reduction. Rather than eliminating carbs altogether, it examines the ways “good” and “bad” carbs can affect your blood sugar levels. The diet begins with a two week period of higher restrictions on what can and can’t be eaten. Then you can begin to introduce fruits and carbs back into the diet. This must be done from the standpoint of the results you are getting. If you see your results suffering, it will be time to return to the initial restrictions and begin again. As far as low carb diets go this one is by far one of the best and most effective. Because it takes an intuitive approach, dieters are more likely to stick with the program long enough to see results.
The Cabbage Soup Diet
As the name implies, Cabbage Soup is the main course and only course throughout the Cabbage Soup Diet and there won’t be much else. You can also eat as much Cabbage Soup as you need to feel satisfied, but not to the point of being stuffed. Nutritionists don’t recommend this diet be pursued for any more than a week. Generally, it is used as a crash diet to gain stunning results within a short amount of time, like for a wedding. There is no alcohol allowed, only water and unsweetened drinks can be enjoyed throughout the time frame. Those who have tried the diet have reported impressive weight loss, but there is also the conditions of bad breath and moderate to extreme flatulence. Those that have health conditions and are otherwise prone to health problems should seek professional advice before beginning such a diet.
The Zone Diet
The Zone diet is not like any of the other diets on the list here. In addition to limiting carbohydrates, dieters must also discontinue sugars, processed foods and bad fats. The Zone diet encourages more veggies, fruits and meats. Calorie counting is encouraged as well as consistency in eating patterns. It will also be important to include good fats and low glycemic foods. This plan is for weight loss and better health through controlled and healthy eating. However, many people have a hard time following the demands outlined in this diet, others say the costs of maintaining it till results are completed are too high.
